In the Guest House:
Forest View Single $260, Double $280; includes breakfast
Bay View Single $280, Double $300; includes breakfast
In The Cottage Single or Double $320; breakfast $20 per person
Rates shown above are per night. Rates for stays of three (3) or more nights, including weekly or longer, are available at reduced cost – please go to our Availability and Booking page to see these rates. (Considering all the Nelson, Abel Tasman and Golden Bay regions have to offer, we think you should allow at least three days/nights to get the most enjoyment from your time in the area.)
All our rates are shown in New Zealand Dollars, and include all local taxes and government charges. There is no extra charge for gratuities – a smile and a “thank you” would do just fine, thanks.
Bookings
We have a minimum two night booking policy. Bookings are made subject to availability of the requested nights and payment of a holding deposit using an approved credit card (VISA or MasterCard). The amount of the deposit is based on the duration of the booking, with one night’s tariff required for stays of 6 nights or fewer, and two night’s tariff required for 7 to 13 nights. Deposits are applied against the total room charge at the end of your stay.
Cancellation
As you probably understand, a boutique accommodation business like ours, in a New Zealand holiday destination, has bookings made by travellers who often book 3 to 12 months in advance of their stay. Cancellations at short notice therefore affect us significantly. However, we recognise that travel plans can change (don’t forget your travel insurance!), so if you do need to cancel your booking with us, please make sure you e-mail us (as soon as possible) a request to cancel your booking. (You can also cancel your booking using our online service at Availability and Booking.)
If we do receive a request to cancel your booking, then we will make every effort to re-book the rooms you had booked.
If we receive your cancellation request at least 30 days prior to the booked arrival date then we will refund your deposit in full, less a $25 administration fee for processing.
If we receive your cancellation request between 30 and 14 days prior to your booked arrival, then we will retain 50% of your deposit, and refund the balance to you.
If we receive your cancellation request less than 14 days prior to your booked arrival, then we will retain 100% of your deposit.
However, notwithstanding the above notice periods, if we are able to re-book your room(s), then your deposit will be refunded in full, less a $25 administration fee for processing.
No refunds are given for early departures.
Payment
We accept approved credit cards (VISA or MasterCard), EFTPOS, cash, direct funds transfer to our bank account, and traveller’s cheques with appropriate identification.
Credit card transactions from us will appear on your statement as Awatea Tasman Bay.
Our Services
Breakfast
Continental breakfast and full/cooked breakfast is included in the above room rates for Guest House rooms, Bay View and Forest View. Breakfast is not included in the room rate for The Cottage, however you may enjoy breakfast in the Guest House for an additional cost of $20 per person. Breakfast is generally available between 8am and 10am, but can be arranged outside these hours – just ask your hosts.
Evening Meals
Available by prior arrangement – feel free to join your hosts (and other guests) at the Guest House dining table for a country-style home-cooked evening meal. Charge per person per meal is approximately $35 but can vary depending upon what’s on offer that evening. To accompany our meals, we are proud to offer a selection of local Nelson region white wines from Blackenbrook Vineyard, Brightwater Vineyards, and Kahurangi Estate, plus a range of Australian red wines and local and imported beers. These are available at extra (reasonable) cost.
Amenities/Facilities Information
Facilities use, including spa pool, media room, library, and BBQ are at no additional cost to all our guests.
BBQ
Guests who are staying in The Cottage have their own gas BBQ located on a private, mini-patio.
Laundry
Laundry facilities are available on-site; please ask your hosts and they will arrange for personal laundry (in reasonable quantities) to be done for you, for a small charge.
Room Servicing
Guest rooms are serviced daily with a change of linen after two nights.
Smoking Outside Only Please!
Ashtrays are provided for your convenience.
Hot Spring Spa Pool
Available for guest use between 8am and 10pm every day.
Children
The rugged site conditions surrounding the Guest House and The Cottage are not suitable for guests under the age of 18.
Wheelchair Accessibility
Very limited and in selected areas only (front ramp to Guest House, floor level showers). The Cottage is not wheelchair accessible.
Pets
Pets (dogs, cats, and other imaginable types) are not allowed. If you are travelling with a pet, we can suggest kennel/boarding facilities for you to contact prior to your arrival.
Meals and Beverages
Any additional meals and beverages purchased during your stay with us will be added to your final account, payable at check-out.
Damages
Will be charged against the guest’s credit card to the extent of the damage incurred. There is a charge for cleaning rooms (curtains, drapes, etc.) if the guest has smoked inside the room during their stay.
Free Internet
Connect to the Internet via our complimentary Wi-Fi network. We also have a notebook computer that may be borrowed, to check e-mails and research other places to visit during your New Zealand vacation.
