Booking Rates for Awatea Tasman Bay’s Boutique Motueka Accommodation
All our rates are shown in New Zealand Dollars, and include all local taxes and government charges. There is no extra charge for gratuities – a smile and a “thank you” would do just fine, thanks.

The above rates for our boutique Motueka accommodation are all available online via our Online Booking page.
(Considering all the Nelson, Abel Tasman National Park and Golden Bay regions have to offer, we think you should allow at least two days/three nights to get the most enjoyment from your time in the area.)

Booking Policy for Awatea Tasman Bay’s Boutique Motueka Accommodation
We have a Minimum Two Night Booking Policy
Bookings are made subject to availability of the requested nights and payment of a holding deposit using an approved credit card (VISA or mastercard).
The holding deposit is equivalent to one night’s tariff and is charged to your credit card 30 days before arrival (and we e-mail you when this occurs).
Deposits are applied against the total room charge at the end of your stay.
If you choose the Pay Now option when booking, we will charge your credit card for the full amount of the booking shortly after you make your booking and e-mail you confirmation of full payment.
We accept approved credit cards (VISA or mastercard), EFTPOS, cash, and direct funds transfer to our bank account.
Credit card transactions from us will appear on your statement as Awatea Tasman Bay, Motueka, New Zealand.
As you probably understand, a boutique accommodation business like ours, in a New Zealand holiday destination, has bookings made by travellers who often book 3 to 12 months in advance of their stay. Cancellations at short notice therefore affect us significantly. However, we recognise that travel plans can change (don’t forget your travel insurance!), so if you do need to cancel your booking with us, please make sure you e-mail us (as soon as possible) a request to cancel your booking.
The applicable Cancellation Policy depends on how you book.
Holding Deposit & Pay Remainder on Departure
- You may cancel your booking free of charge until 30 days before arrival.
- If we receive your cancellation request in the 30 days before arrival, we will retain 100% of your deposit.
Pay in Full when Booking Direct (Pay Now Option)
If we receive your cancellation request ...
- at least 30 days before arrival, we will refund your payment in full, less a $50 administration fee for processing.
- between 30 and 14 days before arrival, we will retain 50% of your payment, and refund the balance to you.
- less than 14 days before arrival, we will retain 100% of your payment.
Booking Non-Refundable Specials
We sometimes offer special pricing for non-refundable bookings, which are clearly stated at the time of booking. In these cases, our cancellation policies do not apply - the booking cannot be cancelled, and no refunds are given.
If we do receive a request to cancel your booking, we will make every effort to re-book the room(s) you had booked. And in the case we are able to re-book your room(s), your deposit or payment will be refunded in proportion to the re-booked nett value.
Please note that if you do not show up, the full amount of the booking is charged to your credit card. And no refunds are given for early departures.
Your Personal Information
We value your privacy. We will never give, lease, sell, or otherwise disclose your personal information. Any information you provide to Awatea Tasman Bay for the purpose of your booking will be held with the utmost care.
We comply with PCI Data Security terms & conditions with regard to your credit card details. Our Booking Service, Beds24.com, automatically removes your credit card details from your booking 10 days after departure.
General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
The GDPR is a European Union (EU) regulation that applies to all EU citizens and any business that collects their personal information. We host many EU citizens each year at our boutique accommodation here in Motueka, New Zealand, as well as citizens from other countries around the world.
We feel that it is our responsibility to be clear and open with everyone about how we use personal information - not just EU citizens. So we have adopted the following guidelines and procedures for everyone who stays with us.

How We Use Your Personal Information
When you book directly with us, we ask for your consent to use your personal information (as above) so that we can manage your accommodation booking.
Here is how we use your personal information.
- We may contact you by e-mail to tell you about any holding deposit or payment, give you driving directions to our property, ask you for an estimated time of arrival, and to thank you for staying with us. We may also contact you in the event you leave something behind after staying with us. If you do not provide us with an e-mail address, we may use the telephone number or postal address instead.
- When you arrive at our place in Motueka, New Zealand, we may ask to see some form of identification, to verify that you are the same person who is booked to stay with us.
- When we create a financial transaction recording your accommodation charges & payments, we may identify you by Name and Address on our Invoice.
- We keep a printed copy of each booking confirmation at our premises in Motueka, New Zealand, as a backup of the electronic form.
Unfortunately, if you do not give us your consent to use your personal information we will not be able to provide our accommodation service to you.
Some Additional Information About Us
Awatea Tasman Bay is the trading name of our New Zealand registered company, Kollington Limited.
Your personal information is processed by us and will be electronically and physically stored by us for a minimum period of seven (7) years. This is the length of time that New Zealand companies must legally keep financial records for tax purposes.
No other companies/organisations will receive your personal information from us. However, our Accountant may be able to view our Invoices, which may include your Name and Address.
Our cloud-based Booking Service, Beds24.com, is located in Germany which is where your personal information is stored. We also keep a copy of your personal information at our premises in Motueka, New Zealand.
If you booked your accommodation via an Online Travel Agent (OTA) such as Booking.com or Expedia, some of your personal information is also made available to us via the OTA’s secure web portal.
To request a copy of your personal information, please contact us. You can also request that any personal information we hold about you be erased, with the limitation that we must retain financial records for seven (7) years as per the New Zealand tax law.
